What DJing taught me about shipping
Off the clock it's all music. Turns out reading a room and reading a release have a lot in common.
When I'm not building, I'm DJing or making videos. For a while I thought of it as the opposite of work — pure feel against pure logic. Then I noticed I was using the same muscle.
A set is a release plan: you read the room, you sequence the energy, you don't drop the biggest track in the first ten minutes. Ship too much too fast and you lose people; hold back forever and the night dies. Pacing is the whole craft.
Same instinct, different medium: figure out how it works, then make something people actually feel.
